First of all, I am looking for a triple Polsten on a Ford chassis, photos of which on the Internet from 2006 are described as an exhibit in Kapellen belonging to the Tank Museum in Brussels. I am also interested in any documentation, photos, the rights to which I could purchase for a documentary broadcast on Polish TV and on the Internet. Does anyone have information about this equipment or contact to reenactors? Last time it was the Notek "blackout" lights used by the Germans in WWII. Have visited the Hartenstein quite some time ago (decades). My understanding is that in terms of actual displayed hardware, it is a shadow of its former self. Glad to have had the opportunity to see it in its glory days.
Best regards,
Arnhem JimArnhemjimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01794722964883335445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2956713848009971988.post-69403061043982330392017-01-28T11:40:10.464-08:002017-01-28T11:40:10.464-08:00The Polsten was designed by the Polish before the ...The Polsten was designed by the Polish before the war as a cheaper and more easier to produce Oerlikon. It used less parts and just as efficient. The plans of this gun were taken to Britain. In 1944 it was produced and used beside the Oerlikon. It couls use a Oerlikon drum magazine.
The restored Polsten is actually a replica. I know that at least 3 were built. The gun is an original (deactivated) Polsten. It was used by the US navy. One of these guns can now be seen in the Hartenstein airborne museum.Jimmy Ehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03043435241950051674noreply@blogger.com
